Frequently Asked Questions

What is ‘natural hairstyling’?

Natural hairstyling is my speciality, and it’s something I’m very passionate about. For me, it’s about finding a look based around softness and romance, rather than creating something teased, tonged, primped and preened to voluminous heights! You deserve to look like you on your wedding day, and with natural hairstyling we’ll embrace the beauty you were born with, and help bring it out in the most polished and gorgeous way possible.

When should I book you?

As soon as you can! I tend to get booked up many months in advance (sometimes as far as two years in advance for key summer Saturdays), so as soon as you’ve got your date and venue sorted it’s worth getting in touch and reserving your slot with me.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

In order to reserve your wedding date, I require a £50 deposit. This is then deducted from your final balance.

Which areas of the country do you cover?

I work mostly in Essex and the surrounding counties, frequently attending venues in Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Kent and London. I’m always happy to travel further afield to destinations elsewhere in the UK and abroad, but this will incur extra charges. Please get in touch to enquire about this.

Do you charge travel costs?

Yes. Anything further than 10 miles from my studio will be charged at 55p per mile.

Can I have the trial done at my house?

No. I ask all my brides to come to my studio in Ashingdon for their trials. This gorgeous space is set up for some serious pampering, and means we can trial veils, accessories and hair jewellery alongside your style. It’s all part of the experience!
On your wedding day, I’ll travel to your home or your venue to style your hair and get you feeling wedding ready.

I’ve got several bridesmaids – can they come to my trial appointment and get their hair done too?

I like to have time for a one to one experience with my brides when planning and designing their hair. However, I totally understand that you might want your best girls around you, and so I do offer a group booking service for your trial at my studio. Please get in touch for more details.

I know I want a headpiece but I haven’t found the right one yet, is that a problem?

Not at all. I stock a gorgeous range of bridal accessories and veil samples at my studio, form some of my favourite designers. You’re welcome to try these on at your trial and gather some inspiration, and if you don’t find quite the right one there, many of the designers I work with are able to make bespoke commissions just for you.

How should I prepare for my trial appointment?

Please wash your hair the night before and come to the trial with it dry and free of any product.

How much time do you allow for each person’s hairstyling on the wedding day?

Every style I create is different, so timing will depend on the look we decide to go for. As a rough estimate, I tend to spend between 60-90 minutes on your bridal style, 30-45 mins on each of your bridesmaids and around 30 mins on a Mother of the Bride/Groom style.

Can you do hair and make-up?

I’m not a make-up artist, but I work closely with some incredibly talented people who I am always happy to recommend for you, helping you find the perfect fit for your style and chosen bridal look.

What can I expect at a trial?

A relaxing and fun experience! Before the trial, you’ll have sent me pictures of you and your dress, so I’ll already have got a good idea of the sort of look we’ll be creating for you. Please allow three hours for your trial. When you arrive at my studio, you can relax with a glass of bubbly or a nice cup of tea, and we’ll have a chat about all aspects of your wedding – from the dress and the décor to the flowers and photography. Together, we’ll create the perfect hairstyle for you. The trial is your chance to tell me what you like and what you don’t, and for us to tweak the style until you’re totally happy with it.
